Braised Pork Hock, a delightful dish where the meat is cooked to such tenderness, it practically falls off the bone, infused with rich flavors. Here’s how to create this culinary masterpiece:

Braised Pork Hock Recipe

Ingredients:

Pork Hocks: 2 large ones, about 3-4 lbs total

Soy Sauce: 1/2 cup

Dark Soy Sauce: 2 tablespoons (for color)

Shaoxing Wine: 1/4 cup (or dry sherry)

Rock Sugar: 2 tablespoons (or regular sugar)

Star Anise: 3-4 pieces

Ginger: A 2-inch piece, sliced

Garlic: 5 cloves, smashed

Green Onions: 3, cut into 2-inch pieces

Water: Enough to cover the hocks

Salt: To taste

Instructions:

Prep the Pork Hocks: Clean the pork hocks and blanch them in boiling water for about 5 minutes to remove impurities. Rinse under cold water and set aside.

Combine Ingredients: In a large pot, combine the pork hocks, soy sauces, Shaoxing wine, rock sugar, star anise, ginger, garlic, and green onions. Add enough water to just cover the hocks.

Bring to Boil: Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.

Braise: Cover and simmer for about 2-3 hours, or until the meat is tender and comes off the bone easily. Turn the hocks occasionally for even cooking.

Adjust Seasoning: Taste the broth and adjust salt as needed.

6.

Serve: The pork hocks can be served in a bowl with some of the braising liquid and a side of steamed rice or vegetables.
