These are the ingredients for pork bistek,

Ah, Pork Bistek, a delightful twist on the traditional Filipino Bistek! This dish is a symphony of flavors, combining the tangy zest of citrus with the rich depth of soy sauce, all harmonizing beautifully with the succulence of pork. Let’s whisk together a recipe that dances on your taste buds!

Ingredients:

1.

Pork loin or tenderloin, thinly sliced (about 1 lb)

2.

Soy sauce (1/2 cup)

3.

Lemon juice or calamansi juice (1/4 cup)

4.

Garlic, minced (6 cloves)

5.

Onion, thinly sliced into rings (1 large)

6.

Ground black pepper (to taste)

7.

Canola or vegetable oil (for frying)

8.

Water or beef broth (1/2 cup)

9.

Sugar (optional, 1 tsp)

10.

Salt (to taste)

Instructions:

1.

Marinate the Pork: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, lemon juice, and half of the minced garlic. Add the pork slices, ensuring they’re well coated. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight for more flavor.

2.

Prepare the Onions: In a skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion rings until they’re soft and translucent, then set them aside.

3.

Cook the Pork: In the same skillet, add more oil if needed. Remove the pork from the marinade (keep the marinade) and fry until each side gets a nice brown color. Set the pork aside.

4.

Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté the remaining garlic. Then, pour in the marinade and water or beef broth. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes. If you like a hint of sweetness, stir in a teaspoon of sugar.

5.

Combine: Return the pork and onions to the skillet. Simmer everything together for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and the flavors meld.

6.

Season and Serve: Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve your Pork Bistek with a steaming bowl of rice and enjoy!
